Colonies breed most reliably when they are not constantly being disrupted. Stable parameters, mature surfaces, sensible feeding, and low predator pressure are more important than chasing “breeding tricks”.
- Keep maintenance steady rather than dramatic.
- Provide fine cover so shrimplets can graze away from adults and fish.
- Prioritise stable minerals and clean water over aggressive cleaning routines.
- Do not expect every female to carry successfully in a new or unsettled aquarium.
If your shrimp are surviving but not breeding, the aquarium may simply need more time and more consistency.
