Order FAQ

This knowledge-base content is guidance, not a guarantee. Shrimp outcomes still depend on tank age, maintenance routine, stocking, feeding, genetics, and individual animal behaviour.

Order information

This page covers the main points customers often need before and after ordering from ShrimpHut. It should be read alongside the Terms and Conditions, Shipping Policy, Returns Policy, and DOA Policy.

Before placing an order

  • Read the full product listing, not just the title or image.
  • Check compatibility, tank maturity, and water parameters honestly before ordering livestock.
  • Make sure your delivery address and contact details are correct.
  • Plan ahead for livestock arrival so the parcel is not left waiting outside or unattended.

After placing an order

You should receive an order confirmation and, where relevant, later updates about dispatch, tracking, or status changes. If you created an account, order information may also be available through the account area.

Can I change or cancel an order?

If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as quickly as possible. Once an order has entered processing, packing, or dispatch, changes may no longer be possible. Livestock orders in particular may move into a handling workflow that limits what can be altered safely.

How do I check delivery progress?

Start with your order status and any tracking information provided. If the order has been dispatched, the courier tracking page is often the fastest source of live movement updates.

What if something is wrong?

If an item is missing, damaged, incorrect, or there is a DOA issue, contact support promptly with the order number and clear evidence. Different issues may be handled under different policies, so providing accurate detail early helps us resolve things more efficiently.

Livestock reminders

  • Natural variation in colour, pattern, and size can occur.
  • Juveniles can be harder to sex accurately.
  • Compatibility outcomes depend heavily on the customer's own setup.
  • New livestock should not be introduced into unstable or immature aquariums.
